Tip to Quickly Make A Website Your Home Page in Microsoft Internet Explorer 7 and Mozilla Firefox 3.0.5
Hi!
We all love our home as we are comfortable and can enjoy by having fun and entertainment etc. in it. The same applies to the online world too. There must be a site on the Net that you love all above the rest and want it to be your home page so that it always gets loaded whenever you open your Internet browser.
Here is a small tip to quickly add that lovable site of yours in Microsoft Internet Explorer 7.0 and Mozilla Firefox 3.0.5 versions (Should probably work in other versions too of these two browsers too).
To make a site as your home page in Microsoft IE 7 Internet browser, do the following:
- Open the website that you want to make as home page in the MS IE 7, this can be done by typing the site’s address in the address bar and then pressing Enter. For example: http://www.pctipstricks.com
- When the site has loaded in MS IE 7 browser, find the hut icon and click on the down arrow
- From the options that appear in the down window, Click on “Add or Change Home Page…” (will appear without quotes)
- In the window titled “Add or Change Home Page” click on the first option – “Use this webpage as your only home page” and then click on Yes.
The present site in your MS IE browser now becomes your home page.
To check if the present site that you have made home page has really become the home page, click on Page and then on New Window or press Ctrl+N in MS IE browser 7, the site that you wanted as home page should definitely open up.
Some relevant screenshots showing what has been done above are shown.
Note: In MS IE 7, you can add several different sites as your home pages. In the screenshot titled, “Add or Change Home Page”, click on the second option of “Add this webpage to your home page tabs” and then click on Yes.
To make a website your home page in Mozilla Firefox 3.0.5 browser, do the following:
- Open the Mozilla Firefox browser and type the address of the web site that you want to make as a home page.
- When the site opens up, select the URL in the address bar. The background of the selected URL becomes blue.
- Keeping the left mouse button pressed, drag the URL to the hut icon and drop it there.
- A window titled “Set Home Page” with query – “Do you want this document to be your home page?” appears
- Click on Yes
- Now, Press Ctrl+N (Press Ctrl key first and then without releasing the Ctrl key, press n) and the website that you wanted as home page should appear in the new window of Mozilla Firefox.
Some screenshots of what has been explained immediately above are shown.
I hope that this post, though very basic will definitely help some of my friends in setting a site as an online home page in Microsoft IE and Mozilla Firefox browsers.
Did this tip help you? Let me know!
